Featuring a rooftop infinite pool, 4 hot tubs, and a bar overlooking the Caribbean Sea, this beachfront resort is 4.5 km from downtown Puerto Plata. It offers spacious suites with a flat-screen TV.

A balcony with a view of the ocean or the garden is part of each modern guest room at Casa Colonial Beach & Spa. They are furnished with marble tile and neutral colors. A minibar and CD player are provided.

Blair Rating: 4 2022-08-25 Exceptional Absolutely gorgeous hotel and grounds, staff are exceptional and atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing and romantic getaway. I could have stayed for much longer. This is not a party hotel, it’s very quiet and the beach was almost empty when we were there (during the off season) — food and drinks are great. We will definitely be back.

Apart from the main lobby interiors which is very nice, the rest of the hotel does not have a welcoming appeal. Its very old, dated and Playa Dorada is like an abandoned walled off resort. Housekeeping on the other hand do a good job (in the second room we were offered). And Nelson was a good waiter in the restaurant.

Spacious yet small enough to not need a golf cart to go to restaurants and the beach. Beautiful architecture, decor and furnishings. Great food. Perfect beach. Quiet. Friendly.

Staff brings towel to you & I didn’t have to return the towel or be responsible for it. Cushions on beach chairs were very comfortable. No bracelet to prove your a guest.

We stayed in the Junior Suite Lanai with Ocean Front and our room was cleaned and smelled so good there was even a fruit basket to welcome us and the view from our room was stunning. The pool area is very nice and something different. We went to several resorts in the Dominican and went to every Spa to get a couple massage BUT Bagua Spa is the BEST we ever experienced- well done to the ladies !!! We look forward to come back and stay longer.
